  • Great for Motion & Short Form Content Creation

    By kevin zupp photography
I use Final Cut Pro X for simple motion content without many tracks of video & audio. I like the interface and can work very quickly.I extend Final Cut Pro X's functionality with plug ins from PixelFilm Studios & Motionvfx which leverage Apple's Motion software. It has everything I need for short form & motion content.

  • The latest release has caused so much trouble for me

    By Kevin Frei
Big big garbo. Any time I open up the latest version, my whole computer glitches. I'm running late 2012 Macbook Pro 15' with the most current Mac OS. Any time I click any of the menu items, my whole screen glitches purple and pink craziness. It's almost like my computer has some crazy virus, but no - it's just the flagship video editing software for Apple. So so sad!
  • So many bugs and missing features

    By JerryLiuFilms
I used Final Cut Pro 7, and switched to Adobe Premiere when Final Cut X came out. I bought this Final Cut X again in November of 2019 because I heard it had gotten a lot better, but it still disappointed me greatly. Granted, it's better than the first versions of Final Cut X, but it's still feels like it doesn't care about the people who grew up with the original Final Cut Pro.Big problems:Export has very limited compressions native to Final Cut. I have to buy a separate compressor software. The compressions that Final Cut offers blow up the files needlessly.Videos will randomly delink even though I never moved them. And once they delink, you cannot relink them properly. Even though the file is there and Final Cut even seems to recognize it. This bug wasted my work I did in the timeline. No timeline playhead autoscrolling when playing. So I have to download a third party software to get this essential feature. The process of creating a new event and library are not intuitive.Bottom line: this might be cheap and maybe it might be a worthy investment as Apple continues to improve Final Cut, but as of now, it cannot do what I need it to do for my needs. Really disappointed, but I hope Final Cut Pro X continues improving.
  • I started with it illegally.

    By Ironmanmason
I got both final cut and adobe. Then I practiced then got good then bought FCPX, I don't care I had to try before I buy. Final Cut > Adobe plus no membership so get it!
  • Simple but works

FCP keeps the clean and easy to use look but still has the power to render and edit raw video files with ease. And it autosaves
  • Fastest editor out there - time is money

    By Renegade Note
I have been a professional editor for over 20 years. I have been through multiple training classes and certifications on different editing platforms. There has been a lot of blowback against this program since version X hit the market. At first it was not sufficient for true professional editing. There were some glaring omissions. These have been addressed for the most part. Some will complain about this or that but often I have found the complaints are a failure to understand how a function works in X or where it is found. I have managed several post editing facilities over the years. On other platforms I would often estimate a project based on how many minutes a day of editing a polished fast editor could complete. Let's take a commercial quality graphics heavy promo piece. With graphic artist working in conjunction with editors I would typically bid out that project at 30 seconds or a minute of finished video in a 10 hour day. Today on X and only on X I can bid that same project out at 2 or 3 minutes per day. From media management to color correction to an incredible multicam integration this program simply flies through the edit. More precisely the program gets out of the way of the edit and lets you get to your vision. I have found that I can get an editor up and running on Final Cut X and being more productive then ever before in under 2 weeks. It is a truly amazing and powerful program. I really believe that over time the competitors will all be forced to reconsider their editing paradigm and shift to something that is more fluid like FCPX. If you have never tried it you owe it to your bottom line to at least check it out and give it the 30 day test drive. I am pretty certain that you won't regret it and you won't look back.
  • Beautiful but ..!!

I used Final Cut almost 6 years ago, but today I am thinking of leaving this program because of its inability to develop itself professionally I used Adobe Premiere for a short time and I noticed that Premiere is a very professional program in terms of Sync voice in the time line very short and not as complex as Final Cut For the multicam in Premiere is very better and there are many and many comments but this in a nutshell and I hope that Final Cut Pro will improve and thank you
  • The worst software I've ever purchased for more than $1.99

    By 3arsfromdownunder
I've been using Final Cut for 8 years, and this is the *most unstable software* I've ever purchased. I rue the day I began using FCP as my video editing platform (vs. something like Adobe's software). I've NEVER used software that's as unreliable and unstable as Final Cut. If you choose this software, be prepared for CONSTANT crashes (I'm talking 10 in a day, easily). Prior to the most recent update, I would have to reboot the software 3 times just to edit a 3-4 minute video. After the Catalina update, the software is still crashing CONSTANTLY. Apple, and the FCPX software engineering team, should be ASHAMED to release software like this. The company and the individuals who developed this software need to take more pride in what they produce and charge us for.
  • I hope to get a refund

I never write reviews before. This is just so frustrating. Everytime i'm tring to use it on my macbook. It just stuck and I have to restart my macbook over and over again. There are so many platforms out there can easily edit vlog without this type of problems. I was trying to give it a try because so many good reviews here and on youtube. But, i shouldn't spend 300 dollars on this as a beginner.
